Experience
The assembly line and its theme park
Three days on a company that does two things at once: it assembles cars and it sells the experience of coming to collect them. You cross the assembly line and then you cross the park built next to it, and you look at what each of the two is worth.
On this page
On this experience you walk into a working factory. In the catalog beyond two days there are few, and this is the only European one.

Itinerary day by day
Day 1 — Berlin. The context
In the afternoon, EUREF-Campus: more than one hundred and fifty companies, institutions and startups working on energy and mobility, that is to say on the problem the car industry is trying to solve.
A large part of the walk is outdoors: in winter the clothing has to be prepared.
In the evening, a two-hour opening session.
Day 2 — Wolfsburg. The factory and the park
A full day, with an early departure from Berlin: it is some 230 kilometers and the transfer takes up the first part of the morning.
Autostadt, the park a carmaker built next to the plant to hand its cars over to customers. Two different things are done and the program keeps them apart: the FactoryTour, ninety minutes inside the working plant, which is the reason this experience exists; and the guided visit of the park.
Three real restrictions, and we write them beforehand. The FactoryTour runs Monday to Friday only, and the day never falls at the weekend. The minimum age for the FactoryTour is ten. And the guided visit of the park takes a maximum of ten people: a group of fifteen is split in two and does two different slots, which stretches the day by about an hour and a half. It is not an unforeseen event, it is in the program from day one.
Day 3 — Berlin. The work
In the morning, a three-hour working session: comparing what it costs to produce the car and what the way it is handed over is worth, using what was seen the day before.
In the afternoon, eight-minute presentations and closing.

What is included and what is not
Included: admissions and visits to the confirmed sites, including the two slots of the guided visit, the booking and coordination with whoever receives the group, the guided working sessions totalling five hours, the materials, one person from the Istituto with the group throughout the experience and the certificate of participation in the experience.
Not included: flight, transfers to and from the airport, the Berlin-Wolfsburg transfer and back, lodging, meals, urban transport, personal travel insurance.
The season, and why
It is sold all year, January included: it is the advantage of a plant and a park, which do not depend on the weather.
The restriction is not the season, it is the day of the week: the factory visit exists Monday to Friday only, and the whole route is built around that. The Wolfsburg day is fixed first and the flights are bought afterwards.
Logistics and capacity
Wolfsburg is some 230 kilometers from Berlin and the day is long: early departure, return in the evening. It is the only intercity transfer of the three days.
The capacity is twofold and misaligned, and that figure is what shapes the day: group admission starts at fifteen people, but the guided visit takes ten. It means a group of fifteen is at the same time above a ceiling and below a minimum, and is split in two for the guided part. The recommended group is 15 people: it is the size that reaches the group rates without going over the access limits of the visits, which at these sites run from 10 to 15. Above 15 the itinerary splits into two slots at every site, the day gets longer and the cost per person does not go down.
Cover
The program includes an accident and public liability policy for the whole stay. The sums insured, the insurer and the policy number are published once it is taken out and are attached to the contract; until then they can be requested in writing, with an answer within two working days.
Do you want it to count as training, with a certificate? This experience can be built into an Istituto program, with classroom hours, a piece of work to deliver and a certificate of attendance. → For groups
