How to enroll

Three steps. Nothing is paid at the first one. Between the first and the third it usually takes

two weeks, and the long part is the time it takes you to gather the documents, not the time it takes us to read them.

If the person enrolling is an institution or a student association, the route is a different one and it is on For groups: who signs, who pays and which documents are asked for all change.

Step 1 — Pre-enrollment

Nothing is paid here and nothing is committed to. It is there to establish whether the program is the right one, and it is useful to us as well.

What you produce

  1. The pre-enrollment form, completed and signed. It is not on this site yet, and we say so: you ask for it in writing at programas@istitutobelmonte.com and it arrives within two working days, together with the entry dossier template. There is no online form on this site, and until there is, pre-enrollment is done by email.
  2. A copy of a valid passport. Its validity must cover at least six months beyond the planned return date. The passport must also have been issued within the previous ten years before the date of entry: it is a condition of the Schengen Borders Code, and it is the reason passports that are still valid get turned back at the border. → Schengen Borders Code, Reg. (EU) 2016/399, art. 6
  3. Proof of current university enrollment, or a secondary school certificate for anyone not enrolled.
  4. The two-page entry dossier, on a template we provide. It is not a motivation letter: it describes the business, the product or the idea to be worked on during the stay, and whatever figures you already have.
  5. A declaration of the Schengen days already used in the six months before the planned departure date. It is there so that we find out in advance, and not at the airport, that someone has no days left.

Requirements

Eighteen years of age on the day of departure, checked against the passport. Current university enrollment or a secondary school certificate. A project or an activity of your own to work on: on the intensive tracks it can be a documented idea, on the extended one there has to be work already done.

Step 2 — Assessment

A 20-minute online interview with the academic lead, in the language of the program. It is not an exam and it is not something to prepare for: the conversation is about the entry dossier. The language check happens in the same interview, because the language of the classroom has to be one you can argue in, not just follow.

The outcome arrives in writing within five working days. If it is negative, it arrives with the reason.

Step 3 — Confirmation

What is signed and what is paid

  1. Signed contract.
  2. 30% deposit on signature.
  3. Balance 30 days before the start date.

What you produce

  1. A personal insurance policy, if you are not taking ours.
  2. Outbound and return flight details.
  3. An emergency contact reachable for the whole stay.
  4. Dietary or accessibility requirements, which are better known now than on day one.
  5. The address where you will be staying, including those arranging it themselves: the person responsible for the group has to know where everyone sleeps.

What whoever enrolls receives

  1. The acceptance letter in their name, with duration, content, weekly hours and the type of final document. It is the document to carry to the border along with the rest.
  2. The final schedule with addresses, times and telephone numbers, 15 days before departure.

The two deadlines are two, and they are separate

Application and confirmation are not the same day, and we publish them separately for each intake. Whoever applies within the first date is not enrolled: they are being assessed. Whoever confirms within the second has the place.

[intake: start and end dates, to be published on confirmation]

[application deadline: published with the intake]

[confirmation deadline: published with the intake]

Dates may be subject to minor variations.

Withdrawals, participant changes, refunds

Swapping one participant for another is possible up to 15 days before departure, at no cost. Withdrawals, refunds and temporary suspension of an enrollment have written conditions, and they are written in the terms and conditions and in the contract, and they arrive in writing with the quotation. The payments page is not published yet: the tax treatment of an Italian invoice issued to a foreign institution is not settled, and a billing page that gets the tax regime wrong rebounds on whoever reads it.

The pages worth reading before enrolling

Entry, visas and residence permit · Terms and conditions · Academic notice

The three pages worth reading before you enrol

Visa and residence permit · Accommodation · Frequently asked questions

Two pages are missing, and we say which. Payments and invoicing comes out once the tax treatment of the service is settled, because an invoicing page that gets the tax regime wrong rebounds on whoever reads it. Insurance and cover comes out once the policy is taken out and the sums insured can be written in figures. In the meantime, payment terms and sums insured are asked for in writing and arrive with the quotation, within two working days.

This program does not lead to any qualification with legal validity. Istituto Belmonte is a private training institute. Its programs do not confer qualifications with legal validity in Italy or in any other country and carry no academic credits. A certificate of attendance stating hours and content is issued at the end.
