Academic notice
This page says what Istituto Belmonte issues at the end of its programs and, above all, what it does not issue. It is the page an academic office reads first, and we wrote it so that the office can quote it without having to call us.

The statement
The programs of Istituto Belmonte do not lead to any qualification with legal validity, in Italy or in any other country.
Istituto Belmonte is a private training institute based in Italy. Its programs carry no academic credits, neither CFU nor ECTS. They are not academic degrees. They do not qualify anyone to practice a regulated profession. They are not professional qualifications or skills certifications under the Italian regional rules. Istituto Belmonte is not an accredited body and holds no official recognition in Italy or abroad.
At the end of the program the Institute issues a certificate of attendance, which states the hours attended and the content covered. The facsimile of the document is published on this site and can be examined before enrolling: The certificate.
Why we write this, with the rules
Two legal systems say the same thing from two different sides, and we set out both so that a reader can check them.
In Italy. The names «università», «ateneo», «politecnico» and «istituto di istruzione universitaria» are reserved by law to state universities and to recognized non-state universities entitled to award qualifications with legal value (DL 580/1973, article 10, paragraph 1). Degrees, academic diplomas and equivalent titles belong to the university system and to the AFAM system (L. 508/1999, article 2). Istituto Belmonte belongs to neither, and does not use those words to describe itself, in any language.
In Mexico, where a large part of our readers are. Anyone providing services through which studies without official recognition are taught must say so in their documentation and in their advertising (Ley General de Educación, article 150). For higher-level studies, Acuerdo SEP 17/11/17, article 42, prescribes a verbatim Spanish-language statement and prescribes that its typeface and size be equal to those of the largest text in the document. That statement is printed in Spanish, as the rule requires it, in the footer of every page of this site, in every language, and in full on the Spanish version of this page.
A clarification we make on our own account, which nobody asked us for. The Mexican rules quoted above address those who teach in Mexico. Istituto Belmonte teaches in Italy and has no premises in Mexico. We publish the statement anyway, in the form the rule prescribes, because our material circulates in Mexico and because one declaration too many costs nobody anything.
What your home institution can decide, and what we cannot do
Academic recognition of the hours attended depends exclusively on the student's home institution, and is decided inside that institution, under its own rules and by its own bodies.
The rules of many institutions provide that a period spent abroad outside an agreement is treated as an outreach activity, perfectly lawful and without credits. Where those same rules do provide for recognition, the usual condition is that the student's institution appoints a tutor of its own, who follows the work and answers for it internally.
That is a possibility in their rules, not an offer of ours. If the institution activates it, we supply the syllabus, the hours, the attendance register and the work produced, in whatever format is requested. We do not apply for recognition, we do not obtain it and we do not promise it.
What we will never write
We list it so that it can be checked. On no page of this site, in any language, do the words «university», «college», «academy», «school», «campus», «degree», «diploma», «master's», «MBA», «credits», «ECTS», «accredited» or «officially recognized» appear in reference to us or to our programs. We do not claim agreements, endorsements, accreditations or approvals that do not exist in writing and that we cannot produce with a date and a number. We do not display quality marks or third-party seals without the authorization of whoever issues them.
If you find a sentence on this site that contradicts this page, write to institucional@istitutobelmonte.com. It is a mistake, and we correct it.
